4 Months!

Yet another month has come and gone and we find our baby girl is already 4 months old.  It seems like Miss Maya is changing every single day!  The highlights:

* She's petite and we're not quite sure where that came from.  She weighs 13 lbs., 2 oz. and is 23 3/8 inches long.  She's between the 5th and 10th percentile on all her measurements, but growing proportionally.
* She spends most of the day with her hands in her mouth and drools like none other, but no teeth yet.
* She has gotten much more chatty, gurgly and sing-songy;
* She laughs out loud more and, oh, how I looooove that little laugh;
* Maya got to experience a couple more firsts this month - Halloween and an election!
* She reaches for and grasps things in her hands.  Watching that development is SO fun!
* She is still a terrible napper.  She takes little cat naps and always starts rubbing her little eyes and wakes up about 5 minutes after we put her down.  It's pretty frustrating, BUT:
* She has started sleeping through the night in her crib, which is awesome.

Hands always in the mouth...

She experienced her first Halloween as a little ballerina.  We made four trick-or-treating stops and that was enough for the night!  She only made it through 2 of them before she crashed.  In addition to going to all of her grandparents' houses, she also got to hang out with her friends in our Bible study.  What a cute little group of friends. :)  And what a blessing it is for me to have all these new moms to talk to!  Wednesday night Bible study is also a bit of a therapy night for me.

We went to the last wedding on our calendar this year sans baby.  Mommy and daddy needed a night out!  The wedding was absolutely GORGEOUS and we had a fun time catching up with some of our friends from DePauw.  The wedding was at the stunning Scottish Rite Cathedral and the reception was held at the Skyline Club - home of some seriously breathtaking views of Indy.  Also, for you DePauw folks, GCBs were on the dinner menu and were just as delicious as I remember them being.  I had such a fun time catching up with friends and hanging out with my hubby.  Congrats to the new Mr. & Mrs. Trogden!

 We also recently visited some of our good friends we left behind when we moved from Indy.  We got to see their new place and ate a delicious dinner together.  Well, sort of together...Maya may have interrupted the togetherness just a tad.  We consider them great friends, had a fun night, and miss them dearly!

It has been another fun month with our baby girl.  We are finding that she can entertain herself for a small period of time now, so it's becoming easier to get little tasks done in the evenings.  We love to watch her learn and do new things.

We're gearing up for a fun-filled month and a half of family gatherings and lots of traveling.  The holidays are always super busy for us, so we hope and pray that Maya does well with the craziness.  If not, we hope and pray our family members understand why we're not at the family gatherings or when we show up late and/or when we're a bit frazzled. :) 'Tis the season!  Wishing all of you many blessings, full tummies, and good health this Thanksgiving and always!
